Welcome to Georiga!

FAST FACTS: Georgia, the last of the 13 British colonies established on the Atlantic seaboard, was founded by James Edward Oglethorpe with 114 original settlers on February 12, 1733, at the present site of the city of Savannah. Its main cash crop was tobacco, though, after a short while, crops such as sugar became as popular. Georgia's warm climate made it perfect for farming. Additionally, Georgia was the only colony who chose its representative at the First Contential Congress for that express purpose only--politics aside.
