  FAST FACTS: In 1890, more than 250 Lakota men, women and children where killed by the 7th Cavalry in what came to be known as the Wounded Knee Massacre. A solitary stone monument near the town of Wounded Knee marks the site of this tragedy, and even today it draws curious toursits and information seekers who wonder how the present came to be.
