Welcome to Texas!
  FAST FACTS: In the early 1540s, the explorer Coronado, in an attempt to find the seven cities, trekked through present New Mexico, West Texas and as far north as Kansas. Though he found no cities of gold, he strengthened Spain's claim on Texas. Today, an archeological site linked to Coronado is being studied by a team of archeologists in the Texas Panhandle; hopefully, it will shed some light on the true motivations of the Spansih explorers of the past.
