Geography

The Geography of West Africa consisted of plateaus and plains.  The plateaus, found in the southwest, south, and southeast are extensions of the Fouta Djallon and Guinea highlands.  There are some marshes near the Niger River and there are endless plains that travel into Algeria.  The Great Three were located over and around present day Mali, Guinea, Niger and Mauritania.
