(A note from the editor: Thank you to Grayson, age 9, for submitting this sports article. We love to hear from our readers!)

On January 11, 2003, the Atlanta Falcons played the Philadelphia Eagles in Atlanta. The Falcons lost, 6-20. However, Michael Vick rushed for 100 yards as a QB and passed very well. Later the Tennessee Titans played the Pittsburgh Steelers and won at their home stadium, this game, however went in to a crucial overtime until Joe Nedney kicked the winning field goal.

The next day, January 12, 2003 the Tampa Bay Buccaneers played the San Francisco 49s in San Francisco and won 31-6. They had gone into halftime winning 28-6 and managed to not let them score any more points. Brad Johnson, in the 3rd Quarter got a cut right above his right eye and to the fans displeasure, was taken out of the game. Later that day, the New York Jets faced the Oakland Raiders in Oakland and the Raiders won 27-10. Rich Gannon had a very good passing game though Jerry Rice was injured midway through the 4th Quarter.

The upcoming AFC and NFC Championship Games include, the AFC Championship Game, Tennessee vs. Oakland, and the NFC Championship Game is Tampa Bay vs. Philadelphia. Donavan Mc.Nabb is back in at the QB slot for Philadelphia having sprained his ankle and Brad Johnson is probably starting at QB, to. The Tennessee-Oakland game is going to be a close match-up as well! I am routing for the Titans, how about you? Anything is possible!

This weekend the AFC and NFC Championship games will take place. The winning teams will meet on January 26th in San Diego, California, and compete in Super Bowl 37.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are playing the Philadelphia Eagles in Philadelphia, and the Tennessee Titans are playing the Oakland Raiders in Oakland; needless to say, both battles are sure to be entertaining. Nevertheless, there are decided favorites in both match-ups. Tampa has had troubles in Philly against the Eagles, most notably this season. And with Philidelphia Quarterback Donovan McNabb almost fully recovered from a broken ankle, the Buccaneers are going to try to avoid a repeat of the season's earlier meetings.

The road team has won the last three AFC championship games; that lends little comfort to the Tennessee Titans, however, as they are going into Oakland to play a regenerated Raiders team. Dubbed the Black Hole, Network Associates Coliseum in Oakland has some of the most intense fans in the NFL--and when a Super Bowl berth is on the line, they are sure to be even more intense.

Regardless of who eventually wins the individual games, views are sure to be entertained--both by the quality of play, and the energy of the fans.
