COMICS & POEMS 2: Pandora's Box, Poetry

Pandora's Box

I know that you unlocked the box
And paid no heed to warnings.
I know that you have suffered long,
Trying to recapture the winged wrongs
That mocked you with their silent songs
as you struggled to stand upright again.

But you, like Pandora,
Forgot who held the key
Until one day a special messenger
Guided your shaking hand
And fumbling fingers toward the lock,
And Hope brought salvation once again.
