U.S. GOVERNMENT 1: Past President's Birthday
December 28th will be Woodrow Wilson's 150th birthday. Washington D.C is honoring his accomplishments by opening an exhibit this Saturday. The Woodrow Wilson house will be the only presidential museum in Washington.
Although Wilson died in 1929, he is still considered one of the most influential presidents in history. He was the 28th President of the United States, and his administration led the country through World War I. He served this country from 1913 until 1921 and carried on much of Teddy Roosevelt’s work.
Woodrow Wilson was, and still remains, the only president to earn a Ph.D. He was the president of Princeton University, one of the best universities in the country, for eight years before he became President of the United States.
The Woodrow Wilson house museum is located in the former home of Wilson, where he lived for the last few years of his life. It is situated in the heart of the nation: Washington D.C. In it many artifacts are displayed from his life, including golf clubs, tennis rackets, eye glasses and more. The museum is free and open to the public.
On September 17, the location of the museum will move to the Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library in Staunton, VA. There, the public will celebrate the ceremonial 150th birthday of this monumental president.
