MUSIC AND ENTERTAINMENT 2: Batman's Ride

The Batmobile is back! The new, upcoming Batman movie has created a surge in demand for Dark Knight collectibles--including Batmobile models. To meet this demand, toy maker Corgi USA is releasing 12 new models of the Batmobile. The vehicles will be exact replicas of the different Batmobiles, starting with the one from the 1930s comic books.

The Batmobile has evolved over the years. The very first Batmobile in the 1930s was bright red. During the 1940s, it was a small car with fins like a shark and a ram strong enough to protect it from crashing into a building. The Batmobile of the 1950s included a laboratory in the backseat! A decade later, fins were put on bigger than before and surveillance cameras popped-up from the front of the car.

Did you know that the Batmobile was a replica of real life cars? In the 1970s, it was made to look like the styling coupes of the day!

These days, the updated Batmobile still tracks down the bad guys with many high-tech gadgets and brand-new inventions. The Batmobile has never looked better!
