MUSIC AND ENTERTAINMENT 3: Shark Movie

What's the meanest predator of all time? Many scientists believe it is the extinct Carcharodon Megalodon--a cousin of the Great White Shark. This extremely large shark grew to be 70 feet long and weighed 60 thousand pounds! It had hundreds of teeth that were seven inches long. The shark could swallow one whole elephant with its sharp teeth.

But is this giant shark really extinct? Even though it lived 10 thousand years ago, a man named Steve Alten thinks that there are still members of the same species swimming in the deep, undiscovered ocean. Alten is the author of a series of books called the MEG series, and he writes about extinct animals.

New Line Cinema is planning on making a movie about this huge shark, and they intend to use some of the stories from Alten’s MEG series. Alten is also rewriting his original book, which is currently being used by different schools all around the United States. Alten says he wants to make it more “teacher-friendly” so teachers can better explain the book to their students.

Alten also has a book that is already in stores called "The LOCH." This book is about the Loch Ness Monster and it, too, is going to be made into a movie. The Loch Ness Monster is said to be a legend, and no one has been able to prove that it existed.
