MUSIC AND ENTERTAINMENT 1: Ringing Ears

An award-winning R&B singer’s song is causing one Georgia man to hear a lot of ringing.

J.D. Turner, of Statesboro, Georgia, has the same phone number that Alicia Keys sings about in her love song “Diary.” Although Keys’ old New York number and Turner’s number have different area codes, Turner gets 20 to 25 calls daily, asking for the famous singer.

Despite the annoying phone calls, Turner refuses to change the number he has had for the past 14 years. Instead, Turner purchased caller ID and was advised to get a phone service that only allows approved callers to get through.

Alicia Keys, the artist who accidentally directed her fans to call a former pastor, has won numerous Grammy awards as well as other musical honors. Keys began playing the piano at age seven and wrote her first song at the age of 14.
