MUSIC AND ENTERTAINMENT 2: Christina Aguilera's New Sketch

Do you remember a blonde teenager in the late 90's that appeared in the music industry with a bang? If you don't take out your CD collection and listen to them again. At the age of 12 she starred on "The New Mickey Mouse Club" for two years until the show ended. She then went to Japan and recorded a major hit, ""All I Wanna Do" with pop star Keizo Nakanishi. In 1998 Christina Aguilera took a chance and recorded a song for Disney's movie "Mulan." The song "Reflection" helped her land a recording contract with RCA. She hit the charts with such songs as "Genie in a Bottle" and "What a Girl Wants." She was a star and showed it by performing at the White House for the Christmas gala and the Super Bowl half-time show, she also won a Grammy for Best New Artist. Following her hit self-titled album, she released "Mi Reflejo" a Spanish CD and "My Kind of Christmas." She then took a leap and recorded the remake of the song ""Lady Marmalade" with fellow artists Lil' Kim, Pink, and Mya for the movie "Moulin Rouge." However with all her excitement and success, Christina was not happy. Despite her judgment and objection, a set of songs recorded when she was only 14, was released under the album title "Just Be Free." Despite all her unhappiness she emerged and became herself again in her second album Stripped" in 2002 She made this album herself, she took part in producing and wrote most if not all the songs. She titled the album "Stripped" because she felt that that is what she did, she stripped herself of all the barriers and obstacles that held her true self back...she was free.

Due to her new free spirit she has appeared in many magazines such as "Rolling Stones", "Cosmopolitan", "Maxim", etc. She has also landed other jobs besides those pertaining to music and magazines. She is the new model for designer Donatella Versace who's ads are to appear in August, and she is taking Britney Spear's spot as the Sketchers model. Christina also co-wrote Kelly Clarkston new hit "Miss Independent." She is now just finishing up her tour with Justin Timberlake.

This isn't all that we will be hearing from Christina Aguilera, there is only more to come. "I want to be a poet and have a chance to explore that and let people know what's really on my mind. I don't want to talk about genies in bottles anymore", Christina said.
