AROUND THE WORLD 4: Ring-Bling King is Now a Real Diamond Geezer
Diamonds are still a girl's best friend - but now they just have to be inlaid on her mobile phone.
London businessman Laban Roomes, who pioneered the latest gold-rush into 24-carat gold-plated mobile phones, has returned from the Emmy Awards in California with a brand new 'ring bling' scheme.
He explains: "It's a real gem of an idea. I was asked to supply 55 gold-plated Nokia 8800 phones for the traditional Emmy Awards 'goody bags' for the stars. They're worth around £700 each and I heard they were being handed out to big names like Denzel Washington and Helen Mirren.
He adds: "Then I realised I could go one better for the ladies and offer to stud their mobiles with diamonds."
