COMICS & POEMS 2: A Street Called Friendship, Poetry
A Street Called Friendship
I took a stroll down the street the other day
Looking to see all that one could and may.
Having not been down it in quite a while
I found myself looking for your smile.
I thought back to not long ago
To a time when- well, you know.
Everything you said and did was held so near
The time, well spent- Oh so precious and dear.
Tears flooded my heart for those days,
Missing you and all your special ways.
My hopes and dreams- all vanquished now;
Just the memories; golden and how.
As I turned to the right hoping to complete my journey,
I looked back in hope to see you returning.
Leaving to go on my way, I felt part of my heart rip
For I did not see you on this street called 'Friendship'.
