MUSIC AND ENTERTAINMENT 2: Hollywood Hen
Matilda, the world’s oldest chicken, made an appearance on the “Tonight Show” with Jay Leno on Thursday, September 9.
The 14-year-old hen, who is from Hueytown, Alabama, is certified by the Guinness World Records as the world's oldest living chicken. The spoiled hen has outlived the normal lifespan of a chicken by 7 years. Her owners believe she has lived longer because she doesn’t lay eggs and because she is very pampered. According to her owners, Keith and Donna Barton, Matilda is tucked into bed every night.
While on her west coast vacation, she received first class accommodations. She stayed at the Burbank Hilton and was taken to the set by a limousine. The over-the-hill hen performed her magic routine on the “Tonight Show” with her owners, in the trio’s magic act called "Mort the Mystifying."
