AROUND THE WORLD 2: Minister Louis Farrakhan Informs his Followers of his Illness

Nation of Islam leaders released a letter written by Minister Louis Farrakhan, leader of the Nation of Islam, to the media and public on Friday September 22. The letter, dated September 11, was addressed to his Muslim followers. The letter, published in the Nation of Islam’s Final Word News Paper, informed them of his current declining health and illness.

Minister Louis Farrakhan, 73 years old, is currently suffering from the pains of prostate cancer of which he was diagnosed with in 1998. He has since lost 35 pounds due to the increasing levels of inflammation and infections to his body.

In the letter, Minister Farrakhan warned his followers to keep an eye out on deceivers and hypocrites who would want to create chaos over his present condition. Farrakhan has asked the Nation of Islam leaders and followers to go on without him, as he begins his recovery, in order to continue the movement. Although he insists that he will have a successful recovery, he has implemented plans within the executive board to maintain stability within the nation of Islam upon an untimely death.
