MUSIC AND ENTERTAINMENT 1: Scooby Honored

Since it is Halloween time, a story about the most famous ghoul-chasing dog, Scooby-Doo, is appropriate. The famous canine, normally accompanied by Shaggy, Velma, Fred and Daphne, will be listed in the 2006 Guinness World Record book for being the cartoon comedy series with the most episodes.

"Scooby-Doo" was created in 1969 by Hanna-Barbera Productions, a famous animation company. Scooby and friends have appeared in 350 episodes, beating other famous cartoon casts like "The Simpsons" and "Tom and Jerry." Homer and company have appeared in 335 episodes, while the famous cat and mouse duo have appeared in 209 episodes.

"Scooby-Doo" recently received another enviable honor. The long-running series was named the second favorite child cartoon in a recent poll of adults, behind "Tom and Jerry."

Scooby and the rest of the cast will be listed in the record book that will be published at the end of next year.
