WEEKLY NEWS 3: Halloween for Dogs

Halloween isn’t just for people anymore. New York pet expert Charlotte Reed is hosting the K-9 Halloween Bash on Thursday, October 28th from 6:30-8:00PM. The event will be sponsored by Nutro Pet Foods and take place at Manhattan's Run Spot Run where certified dog trainer, Jacques Lynn Schultz, will teach old and new dogs alike some tricks for treats. Other canine activities throughout the evening include bobbing for apples, musical chairs and a parade of pets in costume. Reed is expecting fifteen to twenty dogs dressed in Halloween costumes to attend with their guardians and other human friends.

Canine guests will dine on Chicago dog bakery Fido Food Fair’s peanut butter cake. Party guests will receive a picture of their pet in costumes and an American Pet Products Manufacturers Association themed party bag of toys, treats and collars.

Reed, who owns New York-based complete pet care service, Two Dogs & A Goat, decided to hold the K-9 Halloween Bash to give her clients something fun to do with their pets. As a columnist, radio and television personality for such media outlets as Fido Friendly magazine, Infinity’s 1010WINS, and ABC’s The View, Reed has noticed an increase in the amount of products available for people to spoil their pets.

“Many people treat their pets like children, now,” Reed said, “especially people who don’t have children or whose children area grown.” As for her own dogs, Reed said, “Burberry will be attending the party in his bumble bee costume, Kidder will dressed as a clown and Hudson, my new, English Toy Spaniel will be dressed as a wizard. They are very excited!”

A former attorney, Reed’s love for animals led her to quit practicing law and become a pet expert. She has shared her expertise with millions of people through her Pet-Owning Made Easy series of booklets and her appearances on ABC’s The View, CNN, Good Day New York, Fox Pet News and other TV shows. She is currently writing two books on pet-related topics, focusing on pet etiquette and bonding with your pet. Article courtesy of PRWeb.com
