COMICS & POEMS 2: When Animals Are Your Friends, Poetry
When Animals Are Your Friends
Have you ever been to the zoo
and noticed hungry animals looking at you?
Did you smile back at them with a big, nervous grin and wonder
if these animals could be your friends?
Did you see that lion pacing in the cage?
Suppose that lion went into a furious rage!
Would you be that lion's first chew?
Heavens! What would you do?
But sometimes when I dream,
I wish all animals were a free working team,
where bears, sheep, children and geese
would not become the other one's feast.
