MUSIC AND ENTERTAINMENT 1: Red, White, and Cat

After several books and characters, the popular childerns book, "The Cat in the Hat," by Dr. Seuss, a movie has been made. Mike Myers, "Austin Powers" and "Wayne's World," stars as the hilarous but lovable cat. If you have never read the Dr. Seuss books, you are not alone, there are many people out there that haven't. Well, just to get you up to date, Dr, Seuss wrote many books about silly characters and events, overall they were just silly books to help kids learn to read. This books contained only about 224 words each. So how did such a short book get transformed into an entire movie?

Simply put, a lot of events and characteres were added to the movie. First off, the main character, the cat is more direct. He has a huge sence of humor which is pretty much expected being that The Cat in the Hat is Mike Myers. Second of all, the mom in the book only consisted of a leg. Now the mom is an entire person played by kelly )Preston.

This will not be the first Dr. Seuss book that had been transformed into a movie. A couple years ago "The Grinch that Stole Christmas" came out. That movie starred funny man Jim Carrey. "The Grinch" was a huge success so the odds that this Seuss movie will be a success too is pretty good. Don't miss out on this hilerous movie. "The Cat in the Hat" opens in theaters on Friday, November 21st, 2003.
