RADIO CITY MUSIC HALL REPAIRS

Radio City Music Hall is a huge theater in New York City that entertains millions of people every year with its various shows. The doors to this theater originally opened in 1932.

Radio City Music Hall has been closed for the past seven months for repairs. It reopened on Monday October 4, 1999. The repairs included putting up new neon lights, rewiring 1,500 other lights, re-insulating walls to improve the sound, and recovering all 5,901 seats. The idea behind all these "fix-ups" was to make Radio City Music Hall look as it did when it opened in 1932. All total, the repairs cost $70 million dollars!

The Radio City Music Hall Rockettes are a popular show in the theater. Along with the Rockettes, big stars such as Billy Crystal and Tony Bennett performed the night that Radio City Music Hall reopened.
