RUSSIA PRESIDENT ON VACATION

Boris Yeltsin, the president of Russia, has recently been in the hospital for three days with the flu and then took ten days at home to get better before returning to work. He went back to work a few days ago and now is taking a vacation.

President Yeltsin's vacation spot is the Black Sea Resort of Sochi. He went there on Wednesday, October 27, 1999.

President Yeltsin, who is 68 years old, has had several health problems during his second term as president. Some of these problems include pneumonia and heart trouble. He has stated that he will not step down as president until he is required to do so next summer at the end of his term.

Dimitry Yakushkin, Yeltsin's spokesman, said that the president would be on holiday for at least a week.
