PRESIDENT ON VACATION
Boris
Yeltsin, the president of Russia, has recently been in the hospital
for three days with the flu and then took ten days at home to get better
before returning to work. He went back to work a few days ago and now
is taking a vacation.

Yeltsin's vacation spot is the Black Sea Resort of Sochi. He went there
on Wednesday, October 27, 1999.
President
Yeltsin, who is 68 years old, has had several health problems during
his second term as president. Some of these problems include pneumonia
and heart trouble. He has stated that he will not step down as president
until he is required to do so next summer at the end of his term.
Dimitry
Yakushkin, Yeltsin's spokesman, said that the president would be on
holiday for at least a week.
