THANKSGIVING TRAVELERS

Thanksgiving is known as "the most traveled holiday of the year". This year is supposed to be no exception. Millions of people will travel Thanksgiving weekend, which will make the busiest travel period of the year very hectic!

During the holiday weekend, over 20 million people will fly in planes to various places! Airline companies in the United States are expecting a record of 19.8 million passengers during the entire 10 days around Thanksgiving. That number of people is 10% more than the 18 million people who flew during the Thanksgiving holiday just one year ago.

Trains are also completely booked! Throughout a normal week, about 410,000 people ride on Amtrak. Amtrak is expecting 525,000 people to ride during Thanksgiving week, which is an increase of 28%.

Trains and planes are not the only thing that will be crowded during the holiday weekend. All types of roads will also be packed. About 28 million people will be driving at some point during the holiday weekend. The American Automobile Association predicts that about 33.8 million people will be traveling over 100 miles. This number is up from the 33.6 million who traveled last year at this time.

Whether you are traveling by plane, train, or automobile, we hope you have a safe Thanksgiving holiday!
