FITTEST-VS.-FATTEST
CITIES
Boys
and girls around the country, did your hometown make this list? Men's
Fitness magazine recently published its results of the fittest and fattest
cities in the United States.
Men's Fitness
editors came up with their lists by looking at the health habits of
people in the nation's 50 largest cities. They determined the 50 largest
cities based on the population, not by land size.
The editors
explored 29 categories, including obesity rates (meaning the percentage
of people who are 30 or more pounds overweight); TV watching habits;
smoking rates; the percentage of adults who exercise on any given day;
and how 'fitness friendly' the climate is. Jeff Lucia, executive editor
of Men's Fitness said, "We are serious about the accuracy of the survey.
It's as scientific as it can possibly be. We used the most reputable
resources we could."
Here is
a list of the Top 5 fittest and fattest cities in the United States
according to Men's Fitness magazine. For the complete list of the Top
25 in each category, please read in our "Fun Facts" section.
