POKEMON
ALERT
All
of you Pokemon collectors out there beware because there are now reports
of imposter cards being printed and sold!
Nintendo
of America is the company whose name appears on the Pokemon cards. Law
enforcement officials as well as Nintendo of America are now saying
that fake Pokemon cards are becoming a problem. This is especially noticeable
during the holiday season.
Apparently various Pokemon items, from stuffed yellow animals to many
trading cards, are among the items being copied at this time. The counterfeiting
is becoming a huge problem especially for Nintendo because they own
the marketing license for all Pokemon products. Nintendo has even hired
and trained Custom officials and police officers in New York and Hawaii
to look at the various Pokemon items and tell whether they are real
or an imposter.
Here
are two ways to tell if your Pokemon cards are fake: 1) Hold your Pokemon
cards to the light - the fake cards are transparent, 2) Fake Pokemon
cards are often printed on cheaper, thinner paper that crinkles easily.
So, if your Pikachu is looking a little different or odd, beware! You
may have bought an imposter!
